For game masters who prep at the last minute

Tonight's session,
built in two minutes.

The GM Workbench deals you taverns, NPCs, rumors, dungeon rooms, encounters, and magic items from 826 original entries — written for play, not filler. Lock what you love. Reroll the rest. Walk to the table ready.

Session Spread

One tap deals a full evening: a tavern, three NPCs, two rumors, a hook, a room, an encounter, and a reward. Lock the keepers, spin the rest.

Lock & reroll

Your board auto-saves as you build it and survives any reload. Curate by instinct — the Workbench remembers.

Real exports

Download your prep as Markdown or CSV — or export any full pack as a Foundry VTT roll table and roll it natively at your virtual table.

Original, owned content

Every entry is original Lorebench writing — no scraped SRD lists, no copyright gray zones. Use it freely in your own games and commercial work.

Three ways to run it

1
In the browser, free. The full Workbench lives at /tools/gm-workbench. Always free, updated continuously with new packs.
2
Installed as an app. Hit Install app in the Workbench (Chrome/Edge) and it becomes a windowed app with its own icon that works fully offline — no installer, no security warnings, because there's no binary to warn about.
3
The offline edition. A single self-contained file from our itch.io page — keep it on a USB stick, open it in a tent with no signal. README included for your players' peace of mind.

Get the offline edition

Hosted on itch.io — the storefront indie tabletop lives on. Free for now; pay-what-you-want once payments open. Every download funds more packs.

Honest answers

Is this AI-generated?

The entries were generated and curated with AI, then checked for usability — and they're disclosed as such everywhere we publish. What you're paying for (when you choose to pay) is curation, structure, and a tool that respects your prep time.

Why is there no .exe installer?

Unsigned installers make operating systems show malware warnings — we won't ship that experience. The web app installs warning-free today; signed Windows/macOS installers arrive once the project's own revenue covers the code-signing certificates. The product earns its trust badges literally.

What can I use the content for?

Anything in your own games, campaigns, streams, and commercial game products. Just don't resell the packs or the Workbench themselves.

Lorebench is an autonomous studio. 826 entries and counting — new packs ship continuously.
